When I work, I take a material and a process and make one of them unusual. I am motivated by discovery. Can I do this? Will this work? How can I use this? These are the questions I think of as I work. Whether the material or the application methods are impractical, I seek to make it work to the best of my ability. If things turn out well than I think of it as successful, but if not, then at least I have learned something.

In the context of this project, I was interested in the use of wax and how it can be used in reference to the body. With different experiments, I looked at how to make molds of my face and shoulders, then I took the resulting wax masks and placed them into a context relevant to current events in my life.
